Cornwall and Devon Locksmith Training is located on the Trethiggey Holiday Park in Newquay Cornwall just one mile from the centre of Newquay. This allows us to be able to offer you luxury holiday home accommodation for your stay during your training.

Our Cornwall locksmith training school is centrally located for easy reach with a train station by the end of our main road, we only a few miles from Newquay airport with flights from £60 and operating from May till November each year. We offer a free pick up and drop off service for airport and train station pick up in Newquay. The training lock lab is based on the holiday park in Unit 1 by reception.
You will have the chance to use our luxury holiday homes that sleep up to 4 people with 2 bedrooms. This is a self catering training program but we are 1 mile from the main shops, we also have 2 amazing pubs at the end of the road that service the best in Cornish food and drink and a wonderful café behind our holiday park. Our luxury static holiday homes have everything you need to prepare food and cook, from microwave to oven and hob, large fridge freezer but we have plenty of fast food close by, such as McDonald's, Miss Millie's and lots more. Don't worry if its a bit cold, Newquay never really gets that cold being the surfer capital of Britain and being known as the British California with palm trees, blue water oceans and amazing weather but we do have central heating and electric fires in all the holiday homes.
All our courses can be changed to suite your needs with bespoke options from as little as £399 for face to face one to one training if you are local in Devon and Cornwall or a car ride away and do not need accommodation and have a background in the industry. If not you may need a longer course.

How to Know Which Course To Choose!
The length of course you choose is based on your skill level! The shorter the course the high skill level you will require to complete the course, the longer the course the lower your skill level. So a complete novice with no DIY skills would require the 36 week long training course, however a locksmith who is trading but getting stuck on high security hardware and multipoint deadlocked doors could do a 2 or 3 day course. However if you are good with DIY tools then you could also do a 3 day intensive course. All of our courses are longer than just the days you visit us as they all have foundation level 1 awards which is a 4 week online training course. Then you do your face to face hands on training then with that skill set head home and complete a further 11 weeks of training at home. We aim to have every student no mater the price you pay up to a (MMLT LEVEL 3) award once the final exams are completed. The 36 week course will achieve a MMLT Level 4 award. Each course is based on you being a mobile locksmith and the each course offers different tools packages and training packages. Choose what's best for your budget.

The Mobile Master Locksmith Course and Business Package in Newquay Cornwall is the most advanced course in the UK. It has yet to fail any of the students that's undertaken the course and completed it. It works for both us and the locksmith. If we only trained you for 7 days you will be forever getting stuck on jobs and costing us as a business further money by always calling us up asking for help which takes time and money out of our day to day business, you will be damaging doors that could run into thousands of pounds at time, causing financial issues for yourself as your time under training wont be long enough. You will NOT know any other solution to your problems you face on the job and this will damage your confidence until you eventually give up.
This is why we wont train people for just a few days without prior knowledge of the trade. We also do not like to split the courses up doing a 2 day course for foundation, then a 3 day level 1 course and so on and so on costing you thousands extra and this takes longer. By the time you get to actually doing jobs you have forgotten most of your training. There is just no way you can become a real locksmith and be able to deal with todays jobs by doing a week long course unless your really good at pretending.

This is why we break our courses down online as you do not need to be face to face to learn the foundation levels. We can do that via video calling sessions using our online training portal and assignments. Once that's complete which normally takes around 8 weeks of study, research and online training with your instructor via video calling sessions. You will then be at a level to come and do a face to face training session. The reason we do this is that you need to learn the tools, terminology, legal such as BSI kitemarks, fire rated hardware codes, insurance regulations even before you hold a lock and pick. But once you know this information you will then move on to the locks and hardware and finally get a chance to start learning many skills within our framework.

It would be a waste of your timer to visit us without the foundation as we would need to keep stopping our lesson to explain foundation based terms. We need you at a level 1 award and to have passed the Guild of Master Locksmith foundation and level 1 and 2 exams before you attend. Once your in our lock lab we will be moving into a level 3 training program which is advanced. There we will sign off and test you on level 1 and 2 and have you show us what you have been taught, here we can clean up any bad skill sets and deal with anything your stuck on. Level 3 is what we call the technical entry level, this is where we bypass locks and hardware, deal with telescopic pin in pin systems and high security hardware along with everything multipoint locking to toe and heeling doors plus so much more. Its a hands on full week of locksmith skills that's not only fun but challenging.

Once your face to face training has been completed you will have a level 3 in locksmithing and we will celebrate on the final evening with a meal as part of the course. Once you return home we will then delve back onto our online training and move to working on the level 4 master locksmith award. Once completed you will then move to the business packages which is all online and done from your home. Many complete the level 4 within a few weeks after the course but we allow up to 36 weeks but we have had students excel in the subject and complete the 21 weeks of training in 15 weeks and have gone on to be successful in there area.

About the Accommodation on our Cornwall Locksmith Courses
Cornwall and Devon Locksmith Training is situated on Trethiggey Holiday Park which was the perfect partnership. We have our lock lab that we train no more than 2 students at a time but mostly its one to one training based on the holiday park in its own private area.

The park is beautiful with 3 lakes set within the quite village of Quintrell Down in Newquay Cornwall.
​
We have 3 Cornish pubs at the end of our road, around 5 minutes walk with best in Cornish food and drink. We have a café just behind the campsite that sells amazing meals, we highly recommend the pancake stack with maple and bacon.
By the pubs we have a Spar shop that sells everything you need and we are only 2 miles away from Morrisons, Lidl and McDonalds.

Our luxury holiday homes come with a hob, oven, microwave and 2 bedrooms that sleep 4 people. We have plenty of space for your car with ample parking. This accommodation is part of the package and on its own is valued at £1250.

If you are flying in to Newquay airport the we will arrange a free pick up and drop off service as part of your package the same if you are arriving by coach or train in Newquay.

We will supply your bedding but it is self catering, so bring your own soap, food etc.
A Meal and Drinks on Your Final Night
On your final nigh with us we will be heading out for a meal that's included in the course price. This is a 3 course meal and 3 drinks. Here we will celebrate the time we have worked together to reach the level 3 award as the next stage will be the master locksmith award at level 4. This meal is for the you the locksmith and does not include any family members but they are welcome to attend and see you receive your level 3 locksmith award. Sedley the next day you will pack up and head home but we will reconvene online to start your level training. At this stage you will be ready to start taking on jobs and working.
Intense Locksmith Training Courses Cornwall
What is intense locksmith training?
Its a form of rapid learning that's best suited to trades people and people with a background in the industry or similar such as joiners, door and window fitters, engineers, mechanics. However even on our intense courses we do something that no other locksmith training school does and that is a pre course. We do it 4 weeks before you arrive. Its a foundation course that gets you ready for your face to face training and is undertaken at home and online with your instructor before you arrive but once the face to face course is complete you will then undertake an optional 11 week online at home training program with exams to receive your level 1,2 and 3 Guild of Master Locksmiths award and the Locksmith Trade Training Association badge. However without the added training you will still receive a level 3 Guild award but not the LTTA certification.

What is the LTTA? The LTTA is Locksmith Trade and Training Association is part of the Guild of Master Locksmiths, Its a award for excellence in the industry to say you have been trained to the highest standard available and have completed both the GMLUK and the LTTA exams and have been trained under a master locksmith with more than a decade of training under that instructor and the instructor must have been in charge of there own successful locksmith business for more than 10 years with a annual turnover of more that £75k as a sole trader. These are markers of success and time served on the job which is invaluable education and not taught in books.

What's taught on a intensive course? The intensive training courses are a 7 day course put into either a 2 day locksmith training course, a 3 day locksmith training course or 5 day locksmith training course. It is only the locksmith side of the course. There is no business training. But you get access to our online business program FREE of charge as part of the course which is a 15 week online program that you can study and learn to build your business or help increase sales and bookings in an existing business. It also includes all eBooks and manuals, apps and more and is valued at £1500 as a stand alone course.

For instance on a 2 day course we would expect you to be able to already mortice out the wood on a door, be able to change locks and mechanisms, be able to use multi tool cutters and drills etc. The course starts on a level 3 award and you will study a level 3 based course.

You will have access to our online training program for 15 weeks. Things You Should Know!
First we dont train you how to drill locks like many courses do today as you cant drill British Standard locks they have anti drill pins and its just so wrong on so many levels and just highlight a lack of skill.

We wont train you in subjects you will not use in a real life locksmith business today, just to create content filler or to avoid training you in more in-depth topics to try and make more money from a trainee.
​
The reason we stock you with the locksmith tools is that you will be working on our customers doors, we cant have cheap tools going wrong or "con" tools been used on our courses. We give you the exact tools we use day to day on real jobs and you keep the tools, cases, bag everything is yours to take home.

We also give you a starter stock package, this puts you on the right path and stops you buying rubbish you will never use or sell. So many locksmith go so wrong in the beginning and end up in debt as they have rushed out and bought a van and filled it with stock they cant use or sell, they have high overheads as the van is sign written so the insurance goes through the roof, they then become a target to thieves and need a safe storage place to keep the vehicle or they start up a shop with large overheads, we see this all the time when they ask to be re-trained by Taylors, a professional master locksmith company. We train you in business as you could be the world best lock picker but without today's online business training from a company who ranks number one on Google maps and organic listings for the areas we serve, you simply wont get anywhere or make any money.
